Cover crops and soil carbon

A meta-analysis of 40 studies by McClelland and colleagues found cover crops raised temperate soil carbon stocks by 12% on average (1.11 Mg C/ha).

As reported in: McClelland, Paustian, Schipanski (2021). Management of cover crops in temperate climates influences soil organic carbon stocks: a meta‐analysis. Ecological Applications. doi:10.1002/eap.2278
